Cancer Patient Housing in Seattle

So, I thought I would start a post to collect all the information we can on cancer patient housing around Seattle. It is bad enough to have cancer, but to have to travel long distances to seek treatment just makes it that much worse. I have met people here in Seattle that come from as close as Oregon and Alaska to as far away as the East Coast. These people travel here generally because it is the closest metropolitan area with advance cancer treatments or because we have local specialists in rare forms of cancer. Whatever the reason someone may come to Seattle for cancer treatment, they need a place to stay. So, here are few resources to get you started in your search. Perhaps, if anyone has experience with any of these, they could review them in the comment section below:

• The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance keeps a list of short term housing.
• Also, the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance has started on a six story 80 room hotel style complex for out of town cancer patients of theirs. They broke ground last year and it should be open this spring. You can read about the project here.
• The Pete Gross House. A 79 unit apartment building for patients of Fred Hutch, University of Washington Medicine and the SCCA (Seattle Cancer Care Alliance).
